The barista who remembered my order after 8 months away

I moved from Austin to Denver last spring and stopped going to my usual coffee spot, then came back for a visit in November. The same barista at Fleet Coffee looked up, typed something into the register, and said, 'Large oat latte, extra shot, 185 degrees, right?' I was stunned because I hadn't even ordered yet. Have you ever had a stranger remember something small about you that made you feel like you actually mattered somewhere?

And here I am lucky if I remember my own apartment number most mornings, so hats off to that barista.
