That quote from Jurassic Park hit harder after I read the real math
The line 'life finds a way' felt like a movie slogan until I saw the actual stat that DNA in a single cell holds 700 megabytes of data. That detail from a genetics paper in Nature made me re-read the whole book last week, anyone else have a quote that lands different once you learn the science behind it?

Man, that DNA stat messed with my head too. I had a similar thing happen when I found out how much energy a single lightning bolt puts out, about a billion joules, and suddenly every storm in a book I was reading felt way more real. There was this scene where a character survives a strike and I had brushed it off as plot armor, but after seeing the numbers I went back and read it totally differently. Same thing with the ocean pressure stuff after I looked up what happens at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. It is wild how a boring science fact can make a scene hit you in the gut. That Jurassic Park line really does stop being a slogan once you picture 700 megs rattling around in every cell.
