That one quote from Carl Sagan about candles in the dark finally clicked for me last night
I was up late editing a client's logo pack and just felt totally drained staring at my screen, wondering if any of this design stuff actually matters in the big picture. Then I remembered that line about how every one of us is a little candle against a huge dark universe, and it honestly helped me push through the last 3 file versions. Anyone else have a quote that hit different when you were in a rough spot like that?

That Sagan quote is a good one. For me it was that old line about "this too shall pass." During a long stretch of freelance work where I was just wrestling with a terrible client and a confusing project, it popped into my head and made me laugh at myself a little. My candle felt more like a flickering old nightlight running on a dying battery, but I guess it still counts as a little light in the dark.

Is your client paying you in exposure or actual money? Because I once had a guy ask me to redesign his logo 6 times because he kept changing his mind about what shade of blue he wanted. I was about to just send him a black square and call it done. But then I remembered that quote from The Little Prince about what's essential being invisible to the eye, and it kind of helped me chill out. Sometimes just getting through the grind is the win, even if nobody sees the work. Your flickering nightlight still counts, trust me.
