Paid $12 for a used copy of Meditations at a library sale in Boise, and one line in it finally got me to stop dreading Mondays
I grabbed a beat up paperback of Meditations for $12 at a library sale in Boise about 6 months ago, mostly because it was cheap and I liked the cover. Last week I hit page 47 and read that line about how you can choose not to have an opinion about a thing, and it just clicked for me. I used to wake up Sunday night already stressed about my 9am status meeting, running the whole thing in my head before it happened. So I tried something small: when the dread showed up Monday morning, I told myself I had no opinion on the meeting yet and just walked in. It was boring and fine, and I got through it without that pit in my stomach. Has a quote from a book ever hit you way later than you expected it to?
