My old boss said 'you're not behind, you're just early' in 2019 and I finally felt it last week paying off my truck
In 2019 my boss Don said that line to me when I was stressed about being 26 and still renting. I had $600 in savings and a truck payment of $315 and I felt like everyone my age was already ahead of me. Back then I dealt with it by comparing myself to guys from high school on social media every single night. Now I do the opposite, I write down one thing I actually finished that day, even if it was just washing the dishes. Last week I made the last payment on that same truck, 71 months later. Different way of thinking, same person, and I think the quote is why I stuck with it instead of trading it in when it got hard. Curious if anyone else has a line from an old boss or coach that got stuck in their head for years.
