My boss said one line from a Ted Lasso episode at our 8am standup and I finally fixed my ticket backlog
I was sitting in our Monday standup last week, half asleep with my coffee, when my boss quoted Ted Lasso: "Be curious, not judgmental." I had 34 tickets sitting in my queue that I kept putting off because I'd already decided they were dumb user errors. After that meeting I went through them one by one and actually asked questions instead of assuming, and 9 of them were real problems I could fix in under 10 minutes each. Cleared the whole pile by Thursday and felt like a different person at work. Has anyone else had a quote from a show hit them at exactly the right moment like that?
Be curious, not judgmental" is great and all but I'm stuck on the part where your boss quotes Ted Lasso at 8am standup and nobody threw a mug at him. That's the real office hero story here. Also 34 tickets and 25 of them were legit dumb user errors, that math checks out for every support queue I've ever seen. The 9 real ones hiding in there are like finding a twenty in your winter coat. Congrats on the purge, but I give it two weeks before the pile builds back up like laundry.
