My barber dropped a quote on me mid-haircut that I still think about
Sitting in the chair at a shop on 5th Street three weeks ago, my barber Larry told me "the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is about two weeks" right as he fired up the clippers. I laughed, then spent the whole drive home thinking about how that applies to way more than hair, like the batch of cookies I pulled out early or the email I sent before rereading it. Anyway, it got me wondering, what's a random thing someone said to you during a totally normal errand that stuck with you way longer than it should have?
Waited until he had the clippers running to drop that on you? That's evil. Man had you trapped in the chair with no way to argue and a sharp object near your ear. I'd be replaying that line for a month just out of spite. Mine would be the guy at the oil change place who told me "you can pay for it now or you can pay for it later" while pointing at my tires. Still check my tread every time I get in the car.
