Hit 1,000 deliveries in my old route today, and one quote finally clicked
I crossed 1,000 total packages for the month this afternoon on the Oak Street loop, which surprised me since my record was 940 back in March. A line from Shawshank Redemption kept running through my head, 'Get busy living or get busy dying.' I mean, it's not some huge life change, but seeing that number just made me realize how much of my day is just showing up and doing the same thing over and over, and there's a weird pride in that. Has anyone else had a random quote hit differently after a routine milestone like this?
...and here I was feeling like a big deal for hitting 500, so you're basically a legend in my book. I had a similar moment when I finally finished a route without getting barked at by the same dog three times, and suddenly that old line about the same old grind felt less like a movie quote and more like my daily mantra. The pride is real even if the knees are screaming, congrats on the 1,000.
