Typed my password into the wrong field during a Zoom meeting and broadcasted it to 30 coworkers
I was in a security training meeting last week, and I meant to type my password into a website login tab I had open. But I accidentally typed it into the Zoom chat bar instead. Hit enter before I realized. My boss just paused and said "uh, we all saw that." Had to reset 14 accounts that night. Now I keep a sticky note over my camera that says "check the box." Anyone else ever mistype in the wrong window during a call?

Those 14 account resets must have been exhausting. I actually think you're being a little hard on yourself about the sticky note though. The real problem is that Zoom and other apps treat the chat bar like it's always ready for typing, even when you click elsewhere. Most programs let you click out of a text box and it stops listening for your keystrokes, but Zoom keeps grabbing them. That's not your fault, that's bad design on their part. I'd suggest turning off the chat feature entirely during meetings or moving it to a separate window that you have to click into first.

Wait, is that really how Zoom's chat works? I always blamed myself for being clumsy with the keyboard, but now I'm wondering if I've been too hard on myself this whole time.
