Remembering the week my password manager saved my bacon in 2016

Back in September of 2016, I got a weird email from a small forum I used for woodworking. Someone had tried to log into my account from a city in Russia, and the forum blocked it. I checked my password manager and realized I had used that exact same password for my bank account, which scared me silly. After changing every important password over a weekend, I started using a random code for each site, and I've never looked back. Has anyone else had a close call like that before they took their passwords seriously?
