Pro tip: the IT guy at my old office in Tampa showed me his password trick and I still use it
He kept a little paper notebook in his desk drawer with hints, not the actual passwords, just stuff like "first dog + old street + 4 digits." He said writing clues instead of the real thing means a snoop still can't get in, and it stuck with me 6 years later. Does anyone else do the hint system or am I the odd one?
The "first dog + old street" thing is smart because those clues only mean something to you. I did something close to that after my apartment got broken into years back, except I kept the hints in my phone notes and labeled the note "grocery list" so it looked boring. The tricky part was remembering which dog went with which account after a couple years, so I started adding the year I made the password to each hint.
