Just spent 2 hours fighting with a router because of one loose coax cable
I was troubleshooting network drops at a client's office near downtown. Everything pointed to the router being bad. Replaced it, still had issues. After 2 hours of checking settings and cursing, I noticed the coax cable was barely finger tight. Tightened it with a wrench and boom, everything worked. Has anyone else spent way too long on a simple fix like that?

Oh man, that's the worst. I swear this is a life lesson that keeps repeating itself across everything, not just tech stuff. It's like we're all trained to think complicated problems need complicated fixes, you know? We'll replace a whole router before checking the damn cable, or we'll spend an hour on hold with support before just restarting the device. Same thing happens in my house with the garage door opener - I was ready to call a repair guy, cost me like $200, and it was just a loose sensor wire. Happens with cars too, I've seen people replace entire brake systems because they didn't check the fluid level first. It's this weird blind spot where the simplest, most obvious thing is the last thing we look at because it can't possibly be that easy (but it usually is).

Preaching to the choir there @felixb25, it's a human thing for sure.
