Hot take: Using the same password for 12 years because it had a number in it was dumb.

I only figured this out last month when my email got hacked and someone tried to buy $200 worth of gift cards from a site in Ohio, has anyone else had that sudden wake-up call about reusing passwords?

Realized I was doing the same thing when I tried to log into my old Neopets account from 2005 and the password still worked.

Wait, you had the same password for twelve years straight? I get being lazy about it but that is really pushing your luck. I used to do something similar until my bank account got hit a few years back. Now I change my important passwords every couple of months just to be safe. It is a pain but way better than dealing with hacked accounts.
