Found out 90% of breaches come from phishing, blew my mind
Was reading through Verizon's data breach report last night and saw that stat - like 9 out of 10 security incidents start with someone clicking a bad link or opening a sketchy attachment. I always thought it was more about hackers finding software holes or cracking passwords. But nope, it's just people being tricked. Really made me think about all those times I almost clicked something in a rush. Now I'm paranoid about every email with a link, even from people I know. My boss actually got hit last fall when someone spoofed our CEO's email and asked for gift card codes. Has anyone else seen numbers like this from other sources?

right and here i am thinking my password was just too easy to guess lol jokes on me it's literally just me being dumb and clicking on things. i almost fell for one of those "your package is delayed" texts last week while i was half asleep and it looked legit until i realized i wasn't actually expecting anything. the ceo gift card thing is brutal too like who actually thinks their boss is emailing them for itunes codes at 2pm on a tuesday.

lol seriously though, the "package delay" ones are getting scary good. @patricia_rodriguez what tipped you off besides not expecting anything? was it the link looking weird or the grammar? i got one last month that had my actual name and a legit looking tracking number from usps and i almost clicked it until i noticed the sender was some random gmail address. its wild how they make it look so real now. i swear half the battle is just being paranoid about everything you get on your phone.
