Wasted $50 on a cheap keycap puller and regretted it instantly
I bought a plastic wire keycap puller off Amazon for $5 thinking it would do the job, but it snapped on my third key and scratched the stem of a $50 GMK set. An elderly guy at a meetup in Portland showed me his $12 steel wire puller from a local shop, and I just ordered one on his advice. Has anyone else had a cheap tool ruin a good keycap set?

Yeah I mean that scratch on a $50 GMK set really stings. It's the same thing with bike tools honestly. I bought a cheap plastic tire lever once and it snapped and gouged my rim. But a $10 metal set from the hardware store has lasted years. It's like how people buy a $20 blender and then wonder why it burns out after three smoothies. Sometimes spending a little extra upfront saves a lot of money and frustration down the line. I guess it's just a hard lesson we all learn the hard way.

Metal tire levers can scratch rims too tho.
