TIL the hard way that a hot swap socket can pull right off the board if you yank a switch
I was at the Seattle keyboard meetup back in March and a guy named Devin was showing me how to swap switches on his tofu65. I got a little too confident and just pulled straight up on one of his switches instead of using a puller, and the whole socket lifted off the PCB. He was cool about it and said he'd reflow it later, but I felt terrible. Now I use a switch puller every single time and I wiggle it side to side real slow. Has anyone else messed up someone else's board at a meetup, and did you offer to pay for the fix or just apologize?
