Switched from plate mount to screw in stabilizers on my last build
I used to just clip and lube plate mount stabs for every board I put together. Got pretty good at it actually, but that spacebar always had a tiny rattle I couldn't fix. A buddy at the Austin meetup last spring handed me a board with Durock screw ins and I couldn't believe the difference. Tried them on my TKL build three weeks ago and it's night and day. Way less fiddling to get them seated right. Anyone else made the switch and found it worth the extra few bucks?

Man I feel you on that spacebar rattle with plate mounts. My first build was a GK61 and I spent like two hours trying to fix a hollow sound on the spacebar. Finally gave up and ordered some Durock screw ins for my next build, a Keychron V1. Total game changer. The spacebar feels solid and I don't have to mess with it every week. Best upgrade I've made so far.

Did you notice a difference in the sound profile too or was it mainly the rattle that got better? I found screw ins gave my board a deeper thock compared to plate mounts but wondering if that's just placebo. Curious if you had to adjust how much lube you used for the wire since they felt tighter out of the box.
