Swapped my stock stabs for lubed ones and the spacebar went from unusable to perfect in one evening
I built my first 65% board about 4 months ago and the spacebar was a disaster from day one. It rattled like crazy on the left side, felt mushy on the right, and honestly I almost gave up on the whole hobby because of it. I watched maybe 12 different videos on stabilizer tuning and finally sat down last Saturday with a tube of dielectric grease, some 205g0, and a roll of band-aid tape. The before and after was night and day. Before, every spacebar press had this hollow ping that made me want to throw the keyboard out the window. After clipping the legs, lubing the housings, and doing the band-aid mod, the spacebar sounds solid and clean with zero rattle. Took me about 2 hours total because I kept taking it apart to double check everything. If you're new and your stabs sound awful, do not skip this step, it's the single biggest upgrade you can make for free. What method do you all use for stab tuning, band-aid mod or something else?
