Swapped from clicky to linear switches and I get it now
I spent like 6 months building my first custom board with Cherry MX Blues because I loved that loud clacky sound. Every typing video I watched had those crisp clicks and I thought that was the whole point of custom keyboards. Last week I tried my buddy's setup with Gateron Yellow linears and some foam in the case and I was honestly pissed off at how smooth it felt. No rattle, no annoying ping, just a clean thock when the key bottomed out. I sat there for 20 minutes literally just pressing keys over and over. My Blues are sitting in a drawer now and I already ordered some Oil Kings for my next build. Has anyone else made the switch and regretted it or am I just late to the party?

You're gonna sit there and tell me three whole months of using clicky switches was a mistake because you tried some linears for 20 minutes? People act like switching switch types is some life changing spiritual awakening. It's just plastic hitting plastic at the end of the day. I get that linears feel smoother but the difference between a $50 board and a $500 board is like 2% of the total typing experience to me. Half the people on here couldn't tell you if they're typing on Blues or Yellows in a blind test. You do you but this whole "epiphany" thing feels a little dramatic.

Man it's like when you finally try real butter after eating margarine your whole life, you can't go back.
