Stripped a screw on my brass plate and spent 2 hours fixing it

I was building a board at my desk last Tuesday and overtightened a screw on the bottom row, stripped the brass thread completely. Had to use a tiny tap and die set I borrowed from a friend to rethread it, which worked but now I'm paranoid about every screw on every build.

That tap and die set was a lifesaver but did you end up checking if the new threads are the exact same pitch as the original? I did something similar on a polycarb plate once and the new threads were slightly off, which made the screw sit crooked and the keycap ended up hitting the switch housing. How is the screw holding up after a few days of use?

Probably overthinking it, honestly, screw's fine and the keycap clears everything just barely.
