Ripped a switch plate out of drywall by accident
Was swapping out aluminum plates for brass ones in my home office last week. Got a little too aggressive pulling on the Durock screw and the whole anchor came flying out with a chunk of Sheetrock. Had to patch the hole with spackle and wait 2 hours before I could even put the new switch back in. Anyone else ever underestimate how brittle old drywall gets around electrical boxes?

Joked my drywall is held together by hopes and prayers at this point.

It's just a drywall patch, not exactly a disaster. Spackle and a little sanding and you're done in an hour. People make way too big a deal out of small cosmetic fixes like this.
