Rant: the guy who told me my frankenswitch idea was stupid

Ran into this dude at a meetup in Austin last month, he saw my frankenswitch parts laid out on the table and goes "why bother, just buy the premium ones." Like yeah, sure, dropping $120 on a set of factory switches is the same as me mixing 3 different stems and springs to get a feel I actually like. I get that it's not everyone's thing, but why kill the fun? Has anyone else had someone crap on their build ideas at a meetup and it just stuck with you?
