Question about stabilizer tuning for my first 75% build

I tried the holee mod with cheap band-aids on my Durock V2s, but the keys still felt sticky after a week. Switched to using the XHT-BDZ grease my friend gave me, and the spacebar is now dead silent and smooth. Is this grease just that much better, or did I mess up the band-aid cut the first time?

Nice, that grease really does the trick. Did you put it just on the wire ends, or did you also try a tiny bit inside the stab stem itself? Sometimes that's the difference between just quiet and totally no stick.

Honestly, the "dead silent and smooth" part about XHT-BDZ is what got me. I was all in on the holee mod for ages, swore by it. But then I had the same sticky feeling you did, even after re-cutting the band-aids a few times. Trying that grease on a wire was a total game changer, it just works without the fuss. I don't even bother with the fabric strips anymore.

Ugh, the sticky feeling is the worst... it's like the stab gets caught on itself halfway. I had that exact problem with my old setup. Switched to a tiny bit of dielectric grease on the wire where it bends in the stem, and now it's just... quiet. No more fiddling with fabric bits that shift around.
