PSA: hot glue fails on custom keycaps when your board hits 45C during gaming.

I was mid-round at a LAN party in Austin last weekend and my artisan keycap popped off and stuck to my finger because the desk lamp heated the board more than I expected, has anyone else had their builds fall apart from regular use heat?

45C and a desk lamp sounds like you're trying to melt steel, not just warm up some keycaps. I've had coffee mugs sitting on my desk radiate less heat than that. Maybe check if your PC is venting directly onto the board before you blame the glue.

Hold on, is your board really hitting 45C from a desk lamp? That sounds like a lot. I've had my keyboard in direct sunlight for hours and it's never been that hot to the touch. Maybe check your case's airflow or if your PC vents directly onto the board. Hot glue definitely fails under heat, but 45C is like, warm bath water. I'd bet the glue was just bad or applied too thinly before blaming the heat alone. Seems more like a build quality issue than a general warning for everyone.
