My $5 trick for fixing scratchy stabilizers actually worked
I had this one build where the spacebar sounded like a dying cat every time I pressed it. Lubed the stems, clipped the legs, did all the usual stuff and it still rattled. Then I saw a tip from some random Reddit comment about putting a tiny strip of electrical tape under the wire where it hits the housing. Figured it was worth a shot since the tape cost me like $2 at the dollar store. Cut a 1mm strip and stuck it on the housing contact point. No joke the rattle went away instantly and the spacebar went from clunky to thocky. I tried this on two other boards with the same problem and it fixed both. Has anyone else found a super cheap fix like this that saved a build?

Yeah, I've done the tape trick on three different boards now. Works like a charm every time. That and a little dielectric grease on the wire ends where they meet the stabilizer stem usually kills any remaining rattle.

Wait, you're saying a 1mm strip of electrical tape from the dollar store was the actual fix after all that lubing and clipping? That's wild, I spent like 20 bucks on fancy stabilizer lube alone. I gotta try this on my noisy backspace key that still clicks no matter what.
