I was sure hotswap sockets were a gimmick until I built my third board

I've been building keyboards for about 4 years now and I always insisted on soldering everything myself. Hotswap sockets seemed like a shortcut for people who didn't want to learn proper technique. Then I built a board for a friend who wanted to try different switches every few weeks. I used Mill-Max sockets from a shop in Austin and honestly it was a game changer. Being able to swap from Cherry Browns to Gateron Yellows in 5 minutes without desoldering is genuinely useful. The connection feels just as solid as soldered joints after 6 months of daily use. Have any of you had issues with sockets coming loose or do you find them reliable long term?

OH for sure, swapping to hotswap was a GAME CHANGER for me too. I used to dread soldering and now I swap switches every other week just for fun.
