I finally stopped chasing the thock and went back to linears after a chat at a meetup in Omaha
Last Saturday I drove to a small keyboard meetup at a library in Omaha and got to typing on a guy's board with lubed linears and a brass plate, and it honestly felt smoother than my gasket mounted tactile setup. He asked me what I actually do all day on my board, and when I said mostly writing and long emails, he laughed and asked why I was building for the sound of short bursts instead. That hit different because I'd been tuning for that deep clack everyone posts clips of, not for what feels good after a 2,000 word session. Now I'm torn on whether to rip the tactiles out of my daily driver this weekend or keep both boards around. Anyone here run a linear board for work typing and a tactile one just for fun, or is that overkill?
