I paid for a $60 analytics breakdown from a creator consultant in Austin last month and found out 70% of my paying fans joined for the behind-the-scenes Discord access, not the early videos I push so hard, so has anyone else built their whole tier structure on the wrong perk?

Nah, I think people read too much into those numbers sometimes. If they asked your fans "why did you pay", most would say something vague like "support the creator" even if the real hook was the videos. The Discord is just easier to point at because it's a tangible thing. I've seen folks switch their whole setup based on one consultant's spreadsheet and then lose the core audience that got them there in the first place. Early videos might not be the top reason listed, but they're probably the reason anyone found out about you at all.

Respectfully, I see it the complete opposite way. Those numbers are usually the only hard data you get, and if the survey says Discord is the top reason, that's a real signal, not just a convenient one. "Support the creator" is what people say when they don't have a specific hook, but if the videos were the real reason, you'd see that in the follow-up answers way more often. The whole point of asking is to find out where to put your time, and ignoring the top answer because it feels less cool is how you end up building stuff nobody asked for. You can keep the videos as the front door and still trust that the paid community is what actually keeps people in the room.
