Just burned $180 on a course about growing a newsletter, and the free version was 90 percent of it
Bought a $180 course in March from some guy with 200k followers on X. He promised the exact system that got him to 50k subscribers. Turned out the whole thing was 12 videos, and 10 of them were stuff I could find on YouTube for free, like write a good hook and post on a set day. The two "secret" parts were a swipe file of 6 headlines and a spreadsheet template. I make videos about old cameras, small niche, about 3k subs, so I thought this would help me grow a paid list. It did not. I got 14 new signups in 6 weeks, and 11 of those came from one free post I made myself. The real kicker is he sent me 9 emails in 14 days trying to sell me a $600 mastermind on top of it. Feels like half the creator economy right now is just courses about selling courses. Did any of you ever get real value out of a paid growth course, or is it all repackaged free stuff with a nicer font?
