I went all in on a $50 course and got 12 views, what gives?

I paid $50 for a short course on YouTube growth last month and followed every step for 3 straight videos. My average views went from 45 down to 12, and I think the rigid posting schedule killed my natural style. The course said to script everything, but my off-the-cuff stuff used to get more comments. Has anyone else tried a paid course and seen your numbers drop instead of climb?
