I moved my newsletter from a fancy platform to plain Substack and my open rate jumped 14 points
I had been paying $29 a month for a platform with automations and landing page builders for almost a year. My open rate sat around 31% the entire time and I blamed my subject lines. Back in April I moved the same 2,400 subscribers over to a basic Substack setup, mostly because I was tired of the fees, and the next four sends opened at 45%. Same list, same writing, same send day. I think the old tool's tracking pixel was getting my emails flagged somewhere, but I cannot prove it. Anyone here actually test this side by side, or am I just reading too much into one good month?
