TIL a random word generator gave me my best story start in months

Last Tuesday I was staring at a blank page for an hour so I punched 'abandoned roller rink + raccoon detective' into a random word site and got 3 pages of notes in 20 minutes. Has anyone else tried weird constraint tools like that to shake off writer's block?

Abandoned roller rink AND raccoon detective? That's either gonna be the best noir story ever or the weirdest fever dream I've ever read.

The number 47 popped into my head while reading your post because that's how many pages I've written using a random tarot card spread as a plot outline. Nobody talks about how constraint tools actually force your brain to stop second-guessing itself and just make stuff up. The raccoon detective idea is gold because animals in noir settings let you explore human problems without being too on the nose about it. Have you tried combining two unrelated genres like that before?
