The 3 a.m. rewrite trick that finally unclogged my sequel
My second book draft had been stuck for weeks because I kept trying to fix the middle while staring at the same coffee-stained outline. Then I sat down at 3 a.m. after a restless night and typed a random scene from the villain's side just to see what happened. That one throwaway paragraph gave me a motive twist that made the whole plot track, and I got 12 new pages before sunrise. Anyone else ever break a block by writing from the bad guy's chair instead of your own?

Lowkey feel like the 3 a.m. part is doing more work than the villain thing. Your brain is half asleep so it stops second guessing every sentence, that's the real hack. The villain bit is solid but you could probably get the same result at 3 p.m. if you just turned off your inner editor for ten minutes. Anyway, congrats on the 12 pages, but don't make this a habit or your sleep schedule is gonna hate you.
