Signed up for a $15 monthly writing prompt subscription thinking it was a gimmick, but six months later I've finished three stories I'd been staring at for years
I'm usually the type who just scrolls free prompts on Reddit or Pinterest and never actually writes anything. But my friend kept raving about this one service so I figured what the heck. The first week I got a prompt about a vending machine that only dispenses things people have lost. I rolled my eyes but wrote a page anyway. Next thing I know I've got 12 pages. The prompts aren't just random, they have these constraints that force you out of your usual habits. Anyone else found a writing tool they were skeptical about that actually worked?

Signing up for paid prompts was the best push I ever got to finish old projects.

Oh wow, that's a really interesting take. So did you find the money aspect made you take the prompts more seriously, or was it more about the external deadline and someone holding you accountable? I'm curious if the specific prompts themselves actually helped you push through creative blocks, or if it was mostly just the pressure of having paid for it.
