PSA: I stopped writing prompts in notebooks and started stealing them from my grocery list
For two years I kept a fancy prompt journal and wrote maybe 6 ideas in it total. Then in March I started pulling prompts straight from my crumpled grocery receipts, like "the cashier at the Kroger on High Street keeps putting my bananas on top of the bread" turned into a whole short story draft. The weird part is these boring real moments give me way more to work with than any prompt list online ever did. What random everyday stuff have you turned into a prompt?
