Beta reader spent 20 minutes on one paragraph and my pacing issue vanished
I mean, I kept getting feedback that my chapters felt rushed but nobody could say why, then a friend who edits fanfic pointed out I was skipping the small physical reactions between dialogue, and after I made myself add one tiny action beat per exchange for five pages, the whole scene finally breathed, has anyone else found a fix that simple actually works?
