Wasted $400 on a fancy load cell system that gave me wrong weights

I bought a high-end load cell setup from a supplier online last spring for my mobile crane. Hooked it all up on a job in Nashville and the readings were off by almost 2,000 pounds on a single pick. Spent two days troubleshooting with their support before realizing the whole unit was defective. They wouldn't refund me because it was "installed," so now I'm back to using my old mechanical gauge. Has anyone else had bad luck with digital load indicators from smaller companies?

Oh man, I bought a digital scale for my shop that was off by three percent right out of the box.

@finley_lee Three percent is a lot when you're trying to be precise with your work.

Argue the opposite, 3% really isn't that much in most cases, especially for a cheap hobby scale. You'd probably be fighting bigger errors from temperature, calibration drift, or user error anyway.
