Took me 8 years to figure out my tag line was wrong
I always kept my tag line too tight when booming down pipe. Had a foreman at a job in Tulsa tell me to give it 6 inches of slack and the load stopped swinging all over. Has anyone else had a basic rigging habit that took way too long to break?

Respectfully, I see it a little different. Always thought a tight tag line gives you more control when the pipe is moving fast, especially with a heavy load in the wind. Swinging usually happened for me when the crane operator was jerky or the ground was uneven. Maybe it depends on the pipe size too.

Never really thought about it that way before but you're totally right lol. I used to swear by a looser line but now I'm thinking I might've been wrong this whole time.
