That $90 shackle gauge was a total waste of money

I bought one of those electronic shackle gauges for load testing last spring and it was off by almost 12% on a 5-ton lift. Sent it back after two weeks and just went back to the paper charts and a tape measure. Anyone else find these digital tools not worth the extra cash?
