Old timer told me to grease the crane hooks every single shift. I thought he was crazy.

I've been running a Grove RT550 for about 2 years now at a yard in Phoenix. This guy named Hank, been on cranes since the 70s, kept telling me to grease the hook block every morning before I even start. I figured once a week was PLENTY. Well last month I had a 12-ton steel beam start binding on the hook because it was dry and stiff. Hank looked at me and said 'told ya.' Now I do it every single morning without fail. Anyone else slack on this and learn the hard way?

Grease everything every damn shift and dont overthink it.
