My spotter in Phoenix told me my radio calls were too vague

We were setting a 12-ton AC unit on a roof last month, and he said, 'Jamie, 'a little left' doesn't help me. Give me inches.' Now I always call out specific distances like 'swing six inches portside.' It's way smoother. Anyone else get called out on their comms?

Good on your spotter for speaking up. Vague calls waste time and get people hurt. Specific numbers are the only way to work.

Totally agree with the number thing. Reminds me of a time my buddy tried to guide me into a parking spot by just yelling "keep coming." Ended up with a scratched bumper and a lesson learned. Specifics save so much trouble.
