I finally got the anti-two-block alarm fixed after 6 hours, but should we just bypass it?
Had a weird one last Tuesday on a 60-ton Grove at the Port of Oakland. The anti-two-block alarm kept going off even when the block was 15 feet from the boom tip, so I spent 6 hours tracing wires and swapping the switch. Turned out a connector pin was green with corrosion, but half the crew says the alarm is more trouble than it's worth and wants to disconnect it. Do you run with yours active or is it just me who thinks bypassing is asking for a wreck?
