Hit my first 50 ton pick all by myself today on a new Liebherr in Austin

I was setting a big HVAC unit on a roof and the wind kicked up to 15 mph right as I lifted, but I managed to steady it out and land it perfect with zero tag line help, has anyone else had a sudden gust make you rethink your whole approach mid-lift?

Man that gust hitting 15 right as you lift is no joke. I've been there and it makes your heart skip a beat for sure. Good on you for holding it steady and landing it clean.

wait hold up, FIVE knots gusting right at liftoff? that's insane. i thought i had it rough with like 8-10 gusting through a gap in the trees near my strip but 15 is a whole different beast. seriously impressed you kept the wings level through that, that would have been a go around for me for sure.

15 knots gust really isn't that wild though.
