Clutch slip on a Manitowoc 777 made me feel like an idiot for 5 years
I’ve been running a 777 for about 5 years and always had this tiny clutch slip in cold weather. Thought it was just how the machine was (you know, old and cranky). Last month a senior operator from Nebraska hopped in my cab and asked why I wasn’t running the air line through the heater duct. Turns out I had a frozen moisture valve the whole time, not a clutch issue. Anyone else miss something simple like that and only figure it out when someone new points it out?

That just sounds like an easy fix, not some huge revelation.

Easy fix? You sure you read the whole thing?
