Appreciation post: The day my load chart saved me from a real mess
Honestly, last Tuesday on a site in Phoenix, the foreman kept pushing me to lift a 12-ton HVAC unit that felt way off my radius. I pulled out the chart, did the math right there in the cab, and showed him we were 3 feet outside the safe zone. Has anyone else had to stand their ground like that recently?

@fiona_webb absolutely right, no headline is worth a shortcut. I had a similar thing last spring with a concrete pump on a tight residential street. My spotter kept waving me in closer to the house, but the ground was soft, so I checked the chart and told him we were done. We had to bring in a smaller truck the next day, but nobody got hurt or had a wall fall on them.
