Found out my $15 thrift store find crashes during split screen, so check before game night
Was at a flea market in Reno and grabbed a copy of a kart racer for cheap, figuring it would be a fun split screen pick for my group. Got home, fired it up with my roommate, and the frame rate tanked so bad during two player mode it was basically unplayable while single player ran fine. Did some digging and turns out a bunch of games from that era just gut the split screen mode to save memory. Now I always check reviews or load up a two player match before I bring anything to game night. Anyone else get burned by a game that looked great solo but fell apart the second you added a second controller?
Bought a used copy of Mario Party once and the rumble pack slot was so worn out that the controller kept disconnecting mid game. Nothing kills the mood faster than your friend's character just standing there while everyone yells at them.
