Went to a salon in Austin last week and noticed something weird

I was visiting a new salon in Austin and saw they had zero magazines for clients waiting. Just QR codes taped to each station for browsing on phones. Has anyone else tried ditching paper reading materials in their salon?

Wait, no magazines at all? Not even a single outdated gossip rag in the corner? That's wild to me because I always grab a magazine if I'm waiting more than five minutes. I get that they want people to look at their phones, but honestly I like flipping through something while my color processes. Do you think customers were actually scanning the QR codes or just sitting there staring at the wall?
