Rant: Why do so many stylists still use those cheap neck strips that leave lint everywhere?

I was working at a salon in Austin last week and this client had little white fuzz balls all over her shoulders from the neck strip the previous stylist used. It looks unprofessional and takes extra time to brush off, especially if you're about to do a blowout. Am I the only one who switched to fabric neck wraps for this reason?

Everything sheds these days. Clothes, towels, even my patience.

Three years in a salon and I still find random lint from those strips stuck to my black t-shirts, like I'm molting or something. My own stylist switched to those snap-on fabric wraps that actually stay put and don't shed, but then she forgot to wash one and it smelled like week-old coffee. I guess I'm just cursed with fuzzy shoulders and questionable laundry habits.

Wait, week-old coffee smell? How does that even happen?
