Pro tip: a nail tech at a salon in Boise showed me I was cutting cuticles way too aggressive
I was getting my own nails done on vacation last month at a spot in Boise and the tech stopped mid service and said, "you're bleeding yourself." Turns out I had been pushing back and nipping every single cuticle for 8 years thinking that's what clean prep meant, but she only nips the hangnails and uses cuticle remover for the rest. My clients' nail beds were constantly red and I just thought that was normal. She showed me on a practice hand how much damage I was doing with the nippers. Any of you switch to remover only or do you still nip?
Eight years of thinking red nail beds were just part of the job, ouch. That tech basically saved you from yourself, and probably saved your clients too. So is the nipper retired for good or does it still come out for the stubborn ones?
