Hot take: I bought a $200 'professional' steamer that was basically a kettle with a hose.
Saw it advertised online for doing blowouts and smoothing services. It arrived and the steam output was so weak it couldn't even get through a small section of hair. I used it twice on clients and had to redo their styles with my old, reliable steamer. Ended up losing the money and two hours of my time dealing with returns. What's a good, heavy-duty steamer brand you all actually trust for smoothing treatments?

That's rough, but sometimes you get what you pay for. A cheap steamer just can't handle professional use.

True, but @price.zara, some cheap stuff surprises you.

My old ten dollar iron from the drugstore lasted eight years. The build quality on basic items is often fine for normal people. Not everyone needs pro gear for light home use.
